About Bernard...
Bernard Johnson is a business leader and innovator who has served in many different capacities over his 30-year career. Most recently, Bernard served as the Chief Executive Officer of McCartt & Associates, a commercial real estate firm in Amarillo, Texas.
In his professional management roles, Bernard has been responsible for the staff oversight of over 350 people. He has established and maintained management services for a $130,000,000 project portfolio.
Through years in working to lead, manage, and develop businesses, Bernard has gained unique insights in strategic, business, operations, product and service development, along with sales and management. He also creates systems and tools to manage the activities of businesses and assists in financial management and analysis, business growth planning, professional development, and sales activity tracking and performance analysis.
He has been a business consultant/coach to small business owners, executives, and nonprofit organizations for 20 years. Bernard is an Accredited Small Business Consultant with the Association of Accredited Small Business Consultants

McCartt & Associates is a specialized commercial real estate firm located in Amarillo, Texas. During his years at McCartt, Bernard was intensely involved in championing the growth of the company. He also focused on the formation and growth of McCartt's internal team and the development of the network of external partners essential to core business functions and goal achievements. He led various initiatives to frame organizational direction, workflow, and collaborative interactions with the individuals and work groups in its network of contributors. He continually enhanced the internal processes and infrastructure to support the company's growth and fulfill its strategic goals.

In 2004, Bernard began working at Catholic Family Service, Inc. (CFS) as the Director of Refugee Resettlement. In 2006 he took on the role of Director of Operations while continuing to hold the Director of Refugee Resettlement position. In 2007 he transitioned to the Associate Director position of the agency and then, in 2008, served as the Executive Director until 2011.
With his mandate to eliminate debt and build capacity, Bernard worked with the board to execute strategic objectives. Representing one of the largest social service organizations in the region, he passionately engaged the community by participating in local, regional, and national forums.
From 2004 to 2011 the agency substantially increased its annual revenue, the number of clients served, and involvement in community collaborations.
